The Unveiling of Jesus Christ
About 5 years ago, I began studying the Bible in a detailed, verse by verse manner. This endeavor began with a study of the book of Revelation. There is no question that this was the proper place for me to begin as this study only motivated me more to continue through the entire Bible.
The Letters that Jesus wrote in chapters 2 and 3 to specific churches of Asia Minor impacted me as much or more than any other area of God's word. John calls his writing the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The word "revelation" actually means "unveiling". I believe the servant of Jesus Christ can learn more about the desires and goals our Lord has for His chruch in these letters than anywhere else in the scripture. I encourage you to take some time and study these letters. Discover what Jesus commends and of what He finds fault. These letters are for today's Christian just as much as they were for those churches in Aisa Minor. Our Wednesday night Bible study will subject the letter to Ephesus this week. Pray for us as we move through all of the letters and as always you are welcomed to join us. |
